Slight Rant

We don't get no social commentary, we aint' gettin no kind of knowledge out theses records, everybody just talkin' bout how many chains they got on and how much dope they sold, but the truth of the matter is this . . . I was working Friday evening, listening to my iPod on shuffle and this song from Chamillionaire came on off of his latest mixtape, "Mixtape Messiah 5 (not bad, i prefer pt. 4). That quote was from the late Chad Butler a.k.a. Pimp C. I listened to that quote over and over again and I couldn't stop listening to it, because it's so true. It's too true. Not even for just the South, it's for all over. The rap game has fallen off seriously, I remember being young and just hearing the radio just push out all hits. Hits that had stories and morals behind them. It's a shame no one wants to put out real music anymore and it's more of a shame the artists that do put hits out won't get recognized.

Too piggy back off my man Chad's rant, if all these rappers are d-boys, gangstas, pushing all this blow up and down the coast . . . well they aren't real at all. Real gangsters never get their hands dirty they get men or women to do it. " . . . them cats that squeeze them guns can hold junk too." (Christopher Wallace). Chad was also right when he said we all too blessed to be fighting one another. There's a serious recession now, if anyone has a well paying job for their current situation they need to hold on to it for dear life.

I want to end this blog by showing respect to our late Chad Butler (December 29, 1973 – December 4, 2007) and the late Christopher Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997)

Two pioneers of hip hop, fans will and continue to miss them, may they rest in peace.
