Relationships (Part 2)

***Disclaimer**
I want to start off with saying Thank You to everyone that left comments, thanked me personally, or hit me on my phone saying thanks. I really, truly appreciate it with all my heart . . really, Thank You all.

I ended the first of this two parter with being friends with your other, you know how much they mean to you so the "Boyfriend/Girlfriend" title really doesn't have to be stressed. Can you say you've been in a relationship with your other as long as you've been cool with your best friend or a sibling? No, because there's no strain on that relationship. You'll butt heads from time to time, but yall will always be cool, that's the mutual bond you and your best friend, sibling, parent share . . so why not use that same energy put into that bond for your other? Some will agree, others will disagree and will say it's complicated with "relations," well don't make it complicated. It's a choice to make shit complicated, we all know what's the right and wrong thing to do, we choose the wrong thing to do to make life easier, exciting, etc. Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing, because usually it's longer and less fun . . but at the end of the day it's the right thing to do.

So why be friends with your other? Shit happens . . the weight will pick up, the looks will fade, the sex will get boring . . but if that's your best friend, you not gonna leave them in the dust. That's cruddy as shit and if you do pull that shit, stay the fuck away from me. You may leave me up shits creek for the next cool guy that writes awesome blogs (<--feeling myself just a tad there, haha) But you get where I'm coming from? My grandparents been married for yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrssss. How? My man Tom Robinson told me, my grandmother was his homie from way back, from third grade. They got feelings for each other, started messing around, got married, had mad kids and grand kids and they still married. He'll still refer to my grandmother as his partner in crime first before saying this is my wife, Marjorie.

So if you haven't got the point from the two parter by now, just be cool with your mate. Attempt to make it so your mate is on the same fun level as your best friend, because will take a lot to break that mutual bond if both of you put the same amount of energy into it. Also no clocking . . . you wasn't around them for the x amount of years before yall got together . . do you clock your best friend?

Relationships (Pt. 1)

This blog . . . I've been wanting to write this one for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time, but I told myself I was going to do my blogs in order of my thoughts (The previous blogs were thought of first, I got a list of topics that I'm doing in order). I'm probably going to get a lot of love/respect for this one or a lot of hate, hopefully both, haha. Lace up my gloves, cue my muhfuckin music . . I'm going in.

So we all had different types of relationships. We've heard them all, start off as friends then make it something more, opposites attract, fuck relationships, friends with benefits . . regardless, it's a relationship. They all start off different but end up heartbroken, married, or other. Let's view an example of a common relationship, this isn't anyone in particular and I may be wrong, but it's my blog and I'm going to write what I want. I'm not paying yall to come here, you all come on your own . . after all that . .

You meet one another from a friend, maybe at a party, somehow both of you meet. There's mild flirting while both of you are nervous. One of you builds up the courage to ask the other for their number or some may be bold to ask when's the next time you two will meet. There's the date, a few more, it's awesome. You're all she/he thinks about, dates are fun, sex is great . . this is supposed to last forever . . it doesn't. Then the commitment comes in and one goes too overboard while the other is getting bored looking for partners. While one is searching the other is clocking every move their partner is making. The one who's searching we'll call the predator the one who's clocking we'll call the time keeper. (I'm a lame, i know). While the predator is out doing something harmless, the time keeper finally blows up on the predator. The predator ain't having it, so it's gonna go find it's prey and do 'whatever.' Time keeper finds out, somehow they make up and try to make it work. Now the relationship is tarnished and although they both decided to put it behind them it's always there on their mind. Now spectators (friends) are watching and both parties are hearing everything from 'give it another chance' to 'fuck (insert name here).' Both parties are confused and instead of going separate ways they stay together because of the time put into the relationship. I don't even want to get into having kids and getting married . .

Someone's going to relate to what I just wrote, hopefully more than just one person but I'm sure everyone can see where I'm coming from and where I'm going. It shouldn't be that way, it doesn't have to be that way either. The previous scenario is a choice, the predator chose to search for another partner, the time keeper chose to clock their partners every move. The next scenario is how it should be . . not even a scenario . . cuz it's not going to be that long.

Instead of giving your other the title, "Boyfriend/Girlfriend" keep them as your friend first. Make light jokes, have fun, don't clock them, make sure they're still having the same fun before they met you; this means if every Monday night was mans night out or the girls got together to go to the club who are you to stop that?, stop going through each other's phone; your feelings going to be hurt regardless, you either gonna find something or feel bad when you found nothing, if there's an issue don't let it last days, end it that day . . like you would do with your homegirl or homie. Yall get where I'm coming from? Stop making everything larger than what it is. Also stop falling heads over heels for people in only a few weeks, take your time and see how it plays out.

Try it out . . it can't hurt

Discretion

Merriam-Webster defines Discretion, as the quality of being discreet. Being a child, I remember being told to keep my mouth shut, especially on finances, religion, and politics, I was always taught to keep things to myself unless spoken too. That made me the person I am today, I guess that's also why people want to know about me, because I'm a very discreet person. I discuss with people older than me and it seems they were all told the same thing. Therefore I've come to the conclusion, no one in our present time practices discretion anymore.

My mother was raised in the 50's - 60's era and her parents/guardians taught her to be discreet, as a matter of fact I'm sure everyone back then was discreet. No one commonly asked "How much do you make?," politics weren't discussed in the bar, and religion wasn't argued about in open areas. There also weren't web pages which allowed people to do post whatever they wanted. It was a different code back in the day, you pulled some shit like that, back then and you were shunned. No one messed with you like that.

Discretion flew out the window, ppl put up sex pictures with their other if one of them is pissed off, beef videos are made and put on YouTube, pictures are up for the public to see on facebook/myspaces . . . that shouldn't be . . I shouldn't have access to someones album if one of their picture has a burn mark on someones inner thigh. That could be x or y chromosome, it's not cool. The same people that put all this up, will be the same to get mad when someone else questions them about a picture. If it wasn't up for the public to see in the first place, no one would be in your business.

Fortunately for me, no one's in my business, because I can count on one hand the people who know the most about me, and they don't know the half of who/what I really am about. I'm in the process of untagging my pictures on facebook and myspace. It's nothing personal to anyone in particular, I just prefer being discreet. If you were around me when something happened, then it becomes your business as well. There's nothing wrong with that, I dislike people that will view someones entire web page, cell phone, etc. to get find something out.

I dunno, this blog ain't the greatest, but you all get what I'm trying to say . . .

MIND YA GOTDAMNED BUSINESS!!

if you took that personal, then I dunno what to tell ya champ.

I Want A Hot Dog . . . No Homo . .?

First I need to apologize for not holding up my end of the bargain, I know I said there were going to be eight days of blogs, but I fell off. We went out Friday for my birthday, then Saturday I worked a double, no need for excuses though, I didn't hold up my end of the bargain and I'm sorry. Can't fake though, that last blog was serious wasn't it? Haha . . I know. So lets get to another term which has been watered down so much H2O is jealous. No Homo.

No Homo is used when a person says something which could be taken homosexually and they immediately cover their ass by saying, "No Homo." . . . so it was funny back in 04-05, and people would say it for some real terms which could be taken as homosexual. We all got a great laugh at it back then, now it's used for everything. A friend of mine the other day said, "I just need a side meat, son . . no homo." We shared a laugh about it, but that was the perfect way to use it. My man wanted some poultry for his salad and he ended up saying his thought like that but covered himself with no homo. The term itself was funny and he ended with a funnier punch line. No Homo is nothing more than a punchline but people now a days are using it for everything. If I want a Hot Dog or extra meat on my Subway sandwich I'm not fucking saying No Homo. We all need to grow up and chill on thinking every minuscule moment could be someone being gay. Get off it, we all say embarrassing shit from time to time but don't attack them for being something their not. Again, there is nothing wrong with being Gay, but if you were a proud homosexual and you said someone from the opposite sex was attractive and another homosexual accused you of being a "Hetero," you'd be slightly upset, right?

Wrapping it up with this, if a person says a questionable term, just let it go. They don't have to say no homo to please you and let you know they aren't gay. Read that again, the PERSON doesn't have to say no homo to please YOU (no homo user) and let YOU (no homo user) know THAT PERSON isn't gay. Ain't know one thinking 'bout ya ignorant asses, grow the fuck up.

Seperation Anxiety

Seperation Anxiety is a bitch, it sounds terrible, there's nothing fun about that term . . except for the video game that came out bout 12 years ago (spidey and venom kicking ass in co -op, what?! what's not to love bout that?). Well, yours truly, is going through it now. Slowly eating away my soul, however i'm bouncing back as I type this out.

It started December 26th when my friends, my girl, and I went away for a Christmas weekend. Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if drama went on, but nothing to that extent happened at all. Personally, I'm not good with being around the same faces all the time, so I thought one day I would go off on my own to be alone. I usually tend to do that whenever I go on a trip, with anyone . . fam is included. I'll leave their asses at the drop at a dime and it's not with malice at all, I tend to be a loner and sometimes I need to feed the loner side of my personality. Before I get too off track, the trip was awesome. Everyone had fun together, all laughs no frowns at all.

Also on this cool ass weekend, I spent mad time with my girl . . and realized she's the shit. We played plenty drinking games together (came out the victor all times), bust her ass in ps3, she came through in the clutch when I was stuck in games and gave me working advice to get to the next level. It wasn't like a romantic thing all the time, which is something I definetly need in a relationship. So the time I spent with her was great, best part of the weekend, hands down.

I did manage to sneak away sometimes. I was the first to wake up on most of the days so I chilled outside, walked the lake and thought up some new ideas for my personality and future. The past year was a hell of a year, I remember talking with my brother about how 2008 was my year. It started out that way, I was in line to get a crucial promotion, new whip, made ridiculous money bartending at Bennigans on the weekends, 08 was the shit. Well disaster struck, whatever could go wrong, went wrong. The struggle was ridiculous for the greater half of the year, I look back on it now and it still was my year. I came up with this idea . . . God put me through those struggles to see if I was really ready to handle being a grown up . . something I've always wanted to be as a child. I can say now, I'm happy for once. I got the best girl i've yet to have, nice whip, and my promotion which gives me a MEAN ass check every two weeks. If I didn't have such a disastrous later half of 08, I probably would've been reckless with the new money to fall in my lap.

The anxiety sets in around now . . she's gone back to school and I had a birthday which makes me now a whopping 23. Was never really the type to feel anything when my friends went back to school. Shit, I can talk to them on the phone, facebook, IM etc. This time around . . . it's different. Like I feel apart of me is missing, due to me being a Capricorn, we have a TERRIBLE time expressing emotion to our significant other. Fortunatlely for me, she know how I feel about her without me wooing her with sweet nothings all the time. I honestly can't explain it. It feels like a part of me is gone or missing, like I don't feel whole.

The seperation hits me personally, because there were rare times i'd do real reckless shit and blame it on me being young. Young people do reckless shit, duh! Usually I'd get a pass, because regardless of what age I was, I was very mature for that age. I was 9 and acted as if I was 12, 15 i acted 18, 18 I was 21, 22 I felt 26 . . that was due to the stress of dealing with a recession and not getting the promotion i was promised, a new 2006 charger and my weekend job getting shut down. I was still doing the damn thing tho, bills still got paid. I'm 23 now and I feel that . . . 23. No more reckless shit for you, dude. I'm kinda afraid, because if by mistake some shit goes down or i'm feeling reckless . . no pass this time. Ima be told, "you need to grow the hell up." I'm not too afraid though, ha . . i've had plenty of practice right? Stay tuned, watch me work yall!

Game Tight, Swagger Right . . . What?

(Authors Note: I was in my desk drawer today and found some topics I wanted to blog on. I constantly have issues to voice my opinion on, so much so I write them down on notes and usually add them to a list. Well I found that list today and plan to blog on each one daily. Not including this one, there will be a new blog from me for the next 8 days, maybe longer if I come up with new ideas.)

Let's look at the title of this blog, what's wrong with it? SWAGGER! This fucking word must stop. Swag is now the common way to compliment another male without being made fun of how gay one is. It can also be used to compliment ones self, that other males would agree, again if they used the word 'swag' they're safe from all 'gay' taunts. Mr. Joe Budden said it best . . .

" . . . that's the fans getting so intertwined with 'swag,' lemme put yall on to something, that shit is some faggot shit, that's like a secret, hidden way to say . . 'I like how that guy moves, and I like how he walks and talks, and dresses . . ' YOU ARE A FAGGOT! if you do. Or if you do, keep it to yourself, don't create a whole fucking word for it. Or use the word referring to yourself, using it referring to someone else is homosexual, and i'm not homophobic, im sure some of you are so if you don't want to come across as homophobic you should STOP! IMMEDIATELY! NOW!!!

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with complimenting someone nor is there anything wrong with homosexuals, again I am not bashing you. I'm bashing the people that think they're cool as shit for using 'swag' in their vocabulary on a weekly basis, or it's in their facebook status or myspace name. Those people are probably the same group of people who also say "No homo and Stop Snitching. (I'll get on those two later). There's nothing 'gay' about complimenting someone of the same sex, however now a days it seems in order for me to compliment another dude I need to compliment his swagger. Well that sounds 'gay' in its own. Now if you are a homosexual and that is how you compliment someone, by all means, knock yourself out. Don't call someone out for being gay, when they aren't, but if they say "ya swagger, real mean" then they pass the 'gay/straight comments rule and they won't be heckled for it.

It's fun to make new words and terms, if we're going to do it, lets put more meaning behind it. Swag was cool way back in 2004, when rappers said it about themselves pertaining to their fashion sense, cars, money, and how they carried themselves. In 2009, it's annoying now, because anyone can get it.

I've said 'swag' before, I was 19 last time it left my mouth. Teens will be teens, we all did dumb shit we look back on and laugh at it . . but when your grown ass is really saying it on a weekly basis, stop it. Just fucking stop.
