Life Lessons . . Or Some Know Them As Mistakes

I love making mistakes. Shit happens right? Ironically, I used to hate mistakes and strived for perfection all the time. And I heard it all before, "no one's perfect." "Only God's perfect." All that went in one ear and out the other. I knew deep down inside it was true, but I wanted to prove it wrong.

I had this Biology teacher in high school who taught me the smartest people make the most mistakes. That blew my mind away. I thought that had to be bullshit, dumb muhfuckas make mistakes, but it's the complete opposite. You learn from your mistakes . . if you choose to. I take mistakes as life lessons. For example, if you make a mistake cooking something . . if you're smart and take it as a lesson, then the next time you cook you won't make the same mistake. It's not guaranteed your dish will come out outstanding, but it's one less mistake you'll make the next time you make the dish. People are in such a rush to do everything right the first time around. I dunno about yall, but I'd rather perfect my craft, or whatever I'm working on then getting it done quick. Rushing things can make things sloppy and you can't enjoy the progress you've/you're making on your project.

Everyone who reads this won't feel the same way, but I encourage you to give it a shot. Use the mistakes you make as life lessons or building blocks to what you are trying to accomplish. Especially if you're under 30, now is the time to make mistakes because the world is our oyster. We can still make improvements for once we're older so we aren't that 40 y/o person still making mistakes someone 20 would make. Don't rush life or projects, take things one at a time. I'd much rather give 100% on something over x amount of days, than rush through something and give a half assed effort. My best friend @Mr_JWag (shameless shoutout) said last night at the bar he would go back in time and change some things. I wouldn't, all the mistakes I made over time, made me into the person I am today. I dunno about yall, but I think i'm like able. The many mistakes I've made over the years has made me into the person writing these blogs and the character I am on twitter, lol.

If the game shakes me or breaks me, I hope it makes me, a better man . . .

Friends, How Many Of Us Have Them?

There's nooooooooo other word I hate hearing being thrown around, like "friend." Inject this fact in your bloodstream now, everybody you talk to, is NOT your friend. Your friends are people you can go to no matter what. Next time you say, "oh this my friend such and such . . " think to yourself, can I go to this person's house if I was bloody and running from someone? I know I got friends, cuz we held tight for 10 years plus now . . them niggas are my friends. I'm cool w/ some people I work with, but I'd never introduce them as my friend. It's always, "this my partna, so and so" People be so quick to call someone their friend then get their feelings hurt when their "friend" show their true colors. Unfortunately there are more shiesty people in this world than genuine. Feel someone out for a year and some change to see what they're about before you claim them as friends.

These been my friends since middle school/high school . . I can put this shit up and laugh like shit and know they laughing too.

LOL . . clown ass niggas.

Haters Ball

Let's get this "Hating" situation straight. You can't be hated on if your situation is fucked up. Like you can't be some basic broad or dude and claim someone's "hating" on you. Personally, I think you have to be in a bracket to be hated on. There's mad bucketheads that think people hate on them, when in reality people are really telling them about themselves. Mad people think they don't hate either, right when you say, "He/She think he/she cute . . " RIGHT THERE! There ya hating ass go, cause you know you've said that shit before.

Yours truly, has ALWAYS given respect where it's due. Shit, it's hard to do the right thing consistently AND reap benefits from doing things the right way. I dunno if I've ever been hated on . . as a matter of fact, I have but I didn't pay that shit any attention. "That nigga think he tight cuz he whipping that Charger now . . " Nigga, YOU think I'm tight cuz I'm driving a Charger. Lol, shit's funny to me. Like I said earlier with that wack ass, "He/She think he/she cute . . " They probably do . . and your hating ass think they look good too. If you can't keep it honest with yourself, then you're going to be in for a rough ass ride through your life. Be honest with yourself . . at least be honest with yourself and admit you hating. I do it all the time, lol. "Nigga fuck your rims . . I'm hating tho :/" lol, that's all fun and games. If someone doing good for themselves, congratulate them, what's the worst that could happen? They'll get big headed? Let them do it to themselves . .

Now there are times when people try to look out for others and they'll take it as hate. No no no no! Someone's tryna help your dilly ass out. Take this for example, it's mad nice out, a girl got kids and no job and be on twitter, tweeting about videos and Maury . . if someone were to say, "hey it's nice out, take the kids for a walk and go for look for a job." Now if she wasn't a bucket she'd say "yea, that's a good idea," however if she is a bucket . . "Why don't you mind your business, hating on me all the time." Then goes to tweet about it. People today, mistake criticism for hate. The previous paragraph is examples of a hater, this paragraph is about criticism. Criticism hurts, but it helps in the long run. It's like ripping off a band-aid, it hurts like shit at first, but days later the pain's gone and the wound's healed. I get criticized ALLLL the time, but it's only gonna make me better. Compare me to high school Frank, and I shit on that nigga. LOL!
I got better with criticism, you got to take the good with the bad.

I asked some folks what they thought on hating and this is what I got back . .

From @n_I_roc: Crabs in a barrel
I can agree with that. Lazy niggas don't want to get left behind so they'll try to bring their partner or someone from their neighborhood down. Why? Read that shit and tell me it don't look corny . . .

From @Princess426: A hater is someone who is upset that ur progressing in life and not content with just the status quo.

Agreed . .

From my mentor:
Be proud of people doing well, if you want it for yourself go get it...don't be mad because she/he went for it and you're still sitting in front of the TV. . . I just can't stand people always talking about what other people are doing and hating on what they got...when you're not doing a Damn thing for yourself . . . but...then i think...I don't think I'm all that...I'm just doing what I do...if you like it cool, if you don't that's cool too....

That's why she's my mentor . . :)

Check yourself before you fix your mouth to say someone's hating on you or before you try to bring someone down.

Ice Cold??

Do I keep a cool composure for me? Is it for my friends? Do I do it so they don't worry? Do I do to stay ignorant of the "friends" who aren't really friends?

Beats me. I'm sure a shrink could tell me but I'm not gonna pay the bread so I'll never know.

We all go through things, shit happens. But sometimes I don't want anyone to know. And its for all of those reasons. If I freak out then it's game over. No more quarters. Now there's a fork in the road when it comes to other people knowing what's going on with me.

There are some people I don't want to worry. Because I know they genuinely feel my pain, but I'd accept all of it so they could be fine. Now there are a select few who I'm unsure about. So why risk telling them? There are more losses than wins in that situation. They could run their mouth, show their true colors and not care, then I'm stuck with my business floating around and another person I don't fuck with.

God won't give you anything you can't handle. Not you, a few folks and God. Just think about it. People mad quick to ask, "why everyone in my business?" Think about who you told. All these thoughts stay in my head or my phone.

Think about it.

Keys Open Doors

Hello faithful and new readers. I really suck at introductions and this is my blog, so fuck it ima just get to the point, cool?

There comes a time in life when you realize you have more potential that's being used. Like the potential you have stored doesn't match the potential you're using. This is where the fork in the road appears. Do you go with the sudden urge to better yourself or do you doubt yourself and stay where you are . . oh! and there's sometimes the other path where you'll pick up that potential at another time. The fear with going with the urge is that you'll be alone and your best friends or ppl you would want to join you on your quest, won't.

People often get held back by their friends, family, co-workers, etc. Lets put this out first. Anyone who tells you not to pursue a dream or goal of yours, like try to steer you away from it . . is NOT a friend. If you wanna be an astronaut and you got people telling you, don't do that dumb shit or you won't make it, then fuck them. My man Donnie said it best, plenty of people have dreams but no one has the ambitions to get to the dream. A part of to finding that ambition is to say, and I said this plenty times before, "FUCK YOUR FRIENDS." They can live their dream whatever it may be, but it won't be yours and if you want to spend your life living their dream or being a vital part to THEIR dream, good for you. I wish you the best, it could work for you.

You'll have to live w/ that decision for the rest of your life. Think about that. I'm 24 now and I know there's mad years left after this 20 y/o bullshit. Really take some time and digest that, do you really want to do the same thing in your 30's like a lot of oldheads you know? You shake your head at them now, before you know it, you'll be the 30 y/o having someone shake their head towards you.

The people you surround yourself with can drag you down to their level if you aren't careful. Lets say you decide to not go with the potential route. If your folks are cool with you not living to your max potential, that's because they're comfortable with just getting by. Some people are just lazy and don't want to make any more of their situation and stay where they are . . . forever. It may not be the same as day to day, but they're the people who always need someone to lend them some money, they always need to borrow someone car, their phone always off. Get me? They may not be in the same home or drive the same car, but you it's just the same old thing with them. People who are about something are gonna get tired of just being comfortable and gonna try to test the deeper end of the pool.

Success isn't just handed out on ritz crackers at the free sample spot. You're going to fail. The trick is to learn from those failures. If you look at every mistake you made in life as a lesson AND learned something from it, you're on the right path to making something of yourself. I'm not there yet, but shit you better than a lot of people your age. You already have an advantage by failing, because you tried . . and eventually you'll break what's in your way of accomplishing your goal. Go to the gym three times a week for a month and you'll drop some weight. It may not be the 30 pounds you want, but you'll get there if you keep at it. You already have an advantage by trying and failing to lose 30 in a month than the person who didn't even try. Know there's a difference between trying and failing and settling for failure. If you settling for failure you're no better than the person who didn't try from jump.

The moral of this blog is, YOU are the key to YOUR success.

Out,
Frank
