Hello faithful and new readers. I really suck at introductions and this is my blog, so fuck it ima just get to the point, cool?
There comes a time in life when you realize you have more potential that's being used. Like the potential you have stored doesn't match the potential you're using. This is where the fork in the road appears. Do you go with the sudden urge to better yourself or do you doubt yourself and stay where you are . . oh! and there's sometimes the other path where you'll pick up that potential at another time. The fear with going with the urge is that you'll be alone and your best friends or ppl you would want to join you on your quest, won't.
People often get held back by their friends, family, co-workers, etc. Lets put this out first. Anyone who tells you not to pursue a dream or goal of yours, like try to steer you away from it . . is NOT a friend. If you wanna be an astronaut and you got people telling you, don't do that dumb shit or you won't make it, then fuck them. My man Donnie said it best, plenty of people have dreams but no one has the ambitions to get to the dream. A part of to finding that ambition is to say, and I said this plenty times before, "FUCK YOUR FRIENDS." They can live their dream whatever it may be, but it won't be yours and if you want to spend your life living their dream or being a vital part to THEIR dream, good for you. I wish you the best, it could work for you.
You'll have to live w/ that decision for the rest of your life. Think about that. I'm 24 now and I know there's mad years left after this 20 y/o bullshit. Really take some time and digest that, do you really want to do the same thing in your 30's like a lot of oldheads you know? You shake your head at them now, before you know it, you'll be the 30 y/o having someone shake their head towards you.
The people you surround yourself with can drag you down to their level if you aren't careful. Lets say you decide to not go with the potential route. If your folks are cool with you not living to your max potential, that's because they're comfortable with just getting by. Some people are just lazy and don't want to make any more of their situation and stay where they are . . . forever. It may not be the same as day to day, but they're the people who always need someone to lend them some money, they always need to borrow someone car, their phone always off. Get me? They may not be in the same home or drive the same car, but you it's just the same old thing with them. People who are about something are gonna get tired of just being comfortable and gonna try to test the deeper end of the pool.
Success isn't just handed out on ritz crackers at the free sample spot. You're going to fail. The trick is to learn from those failures. If you look at every mistake you made in life as a lesson AND learned something from it, you're on the right path to making something of yourself. I'm not there yet, but shit you better than a lot of people your age. You already have an advantage by failing, because you tried . . and eventually you'll break what's in your way of accomplishing your goal. Go to the gym three times a week for a month and you'll drop some weight. It may not be the 30 pounds you want, but you'll get there if you keep at it. You already have an advantage by trying and failing to lose 30 in a month than the person who didn't even try. Know there's a difference between trying and failing and settling for failure. If you settling for failure you're no better than the person who didn't try from jump.
The moral of this blog is, YOU are the key to YOUR success.
Out,
Frank
