There's a small window opening when it comes to success. It starts with a slight buzz; people mention you here and there. Then you get underground, or organic buzz as I like to call it. The real recognize the real hard work you're putting into your craft. Then the people you've been yearning to notice you, finally do and you're finally successful. Good Job! Pat yourself on the back, go get fucked up with your friends . . . You finally get what you've wanted and your hunger is satisfied.
"So sour is the limelight . . . " - Charles Hamilton
Once you get what you've wanted the bar for success if much higher. Now you have to maintain that level while EVERYONE's watching. It's a muhfucka . . . especially if your progress was watched from the ground up. When your hand waivers, someone's there to remind you, "Don't slip." I don't mean that literally . . like we all have assholes in our lives who love to rub failures in our face (haters i think they're called?). We can call those assholes "unfortunate situations." Bills you forgot to pay, upcoming birthdays you forgot, car problems, kids get sick . . the asshole you know will call you out during ALL of those situations. Is success all it's cracked up to be? Then you aren't even hungry anymore . . you're full but what's next?
There's nothing like that grind . . . I grew up so much this past year but deep down I feel I haven't grown at all. My main goal was to grasp control of my money, maintain this relationship, and rebuild my character. I've done well . . still working on some goals . . but as I get closer to the end . . I'm like, what now?
Money changes people. My changes were unintentional, nothing major to the public eye, but they hurt my soul. Those changes aren't qualities of Frank or StonerCharm . . smh . . no bueno. I've never displayed any of the changes, they would come up during my "unfortunate situations" . . . like I've been getting jealous or people . . for fucking what, dude? I don't even know why, I cannot answer that question. When I was hungry . . I wouldn't pay dumb shit like jealous or "he say, she say" any attention. That's a serious flaw . . and it will be changed.
To sum this up . . stay hungry for humble pie, but don't overeat. I recently humbled the shit out of myself. There were some situations previously which I should have taken control at the beginning like a former shadow of myself would have. Instead I let them happen and be three times as angry with myself but keep a cool composure. I will be more direct using my fury to power my message . . . coward beat around the bush and I. Will. Not. Be. A. Fucking. Coward.
